A lot of people have been irritated by the huge volume of Buzz notifications that they have been receiving in their Gmail Inbox. I have been filtering the Buzz notifications right from the start and it’s as easy as pie.

For the benefit of anyone who doesn’t know how to create a filter/label, here’s a step-by-step guide on how to spare your Inbox from the constant Buzz.

Here’s how you go about it:

  1. Open your Gmail account
  2. Click on “Settings” at the top of the page
  3. Click on the “Filters” tab
  4. Click on “Create a New Filter”
  5. Create a filter for the buzzes with the following fields:
    1. Subject: “Buzz:”
    2. Has Words: “Buzz from”
  6. Click on “Test Search”
  7. Now that you see all the Buzz conversations/notifications below, click on “Next Step”
  8. Among all the options you see, select the following:
    1. (Archive it)
    2. (Optional) You could apply a custom label for Buzz Notifications
      1. Select “Apply Label”
      2. In the dropdown box, either create a new label or select one of the existing labels
    3. Also, select “Also apply filter to XXXX conversations below.”
  9. Click on “Create Filter”

That’s it! You’re done! Now, you don’t have to worry about the Buzz spamming your Gmail Inbox!

Enjoy the Buzz!

This is a hilarious video!

Hitler expresses thoughts that everyone had while Steve Jobs was up on stage unveiling his company’s ‘Latest Creation’.

On a side note, Engadget has a post about the iPad’s OS 3.2 SDK containing support for SMS and Video Calls/Conferencing. Read about it here.

I spent some time yesterday in Mumbai. It’d been ages since I’d been to Mumbai for shopping, and since Diwali’s coming up, we decided we’d go out and explore. But the best part of the whole experience wasn’t the shopping. That was very mundane, time consuming, and given the fact that I am more of a point-and-shoot kind of shopper, the extended, exploratory shopping style just gets me bored! The thing that really got me excited very early in the day was simply the fact that it was raining cats and dogs en-route and it was steady throughout the time I was in Mumbai.

Can T20s and ODIs co-exist? A Businessman’s and Fan’s view

Over the last couple of years, there’s been a lot of talk about the viability of ODIs (One Day Internationals, 50 overs per side games) due to the growing popularity of T20 (20 overs per side games) cricket. Ever since the first T20 World Cup in South Africa, there have been two points of views about this issue:

  • The Business View
  • The Fan’s View

Let’s discuss what each of those perspectives are about…
