A lot of people have been irritated by the huge volume of Buzz notifications that they have been receiving in their Gmail Inbox. I have been filtering the Buzz notifications right from the start and it’s as easy as pie.

For the benefit of anyone who doesn’t know how to create a filter/label, here’s a step-by-step guide on how to spare your Inbox from the constant Buzz.

Here’s how you go about it:

  1. Open your Gmail account
  2. Click on “Settings” at the top of the page
  3. Click on the “Filters” tab
  4. Click on “Create a New Filter”
  5. Create a filter for the buzzes with the following fields:
    1. Subject: “Buzz:”
    2. Has Words: “Buzz from”
  6. Click on “Test Search”
  7. Now that you see all the Buzz conversations/notifications below, click on “Next Step”
  8. Among all the options you see, select the following:
    1. (Archive it)
    2. (Optional) You could apply a custom label for Buzz Notifications
      1. Select “Apply Label”
      2. In the dropdown box, either create a new label or select one of the existing labels
    3. Also, select “Also apply filter to XXXX conversations below.”
  9. Click on “Create Filter”

That’s it! You’re done! Now, you don’t have to worry about the Buzz spamming your Gmail Inbox!

Enjoy the Buzz!
